I heard a man on the radio say that you knew that Jesus was young when he died because he didn't have anything in the sermon on the mount about how you needed to save for your pention.
Can I do this?
Really do this?
Let go?
Let go of a front porch neighbourhood and a backyard with a kiddy-pool full of my smiling kids.
Will I look back and regret this choice?
The choice to have my kids see mountains and beauty and the eyes of different cultures?
This see-saw of emotions, rootedness meets the road-less traveled.
I know that life does not wait that I need to live now,
that there will always be risk,
and little feet,
who will see how I walk.
A world adventure with kids? Why not? For the first time in a long time we have no greater obligations than our family. Our kids can be carried, changed on the grass, happy with a stick as a toy, so we are selling our house, free ourselves of clutter and OFF WE GO!
The plan? To learn what it means to be on an adventure with God. Sharing ideas on helping people launch their own adventure and hopefully in some way using our skills to bring justice and mercy to those in need.

Training
So we have started already getting the kids in shape. We have realized that Cameron is not happy about sharing, but the thought of both of us having a trailer seems too much. But, as you can see we may need 2 trailers.
At this point it seems like we will try to bike in the mornings. The challenge will be the kids being confined for 2 + hours at a time. The challenge for us is .....HILLS. Did you know there are 2 mountain ranges in Spain. Reading people's accounts that the wind is always blowing is not helping either.
Logistically it might make the most sense to bring someone with us who will take one of the kids on their bike. At this point our best plan is to do longer and longer trips so the kids get used to the routine.

'Trust in God and tie up your Camel"
This seems like life right now. Both a mix of embracing the unknown and tieing up all the loose ends like we were really planning for something. If this really is an adventure we ARE going to embark on then make decisions like it is. It's amazing how you can wait to do things, like fix the holes in the wall, paint etc. , but if we believe we have to sell- make the practical plans happen.
